The Singular Santiago

SINGULAR SANTIAGO HOTEL

The Singular Santiago hotel is located in the heart of the resurgent Lastarria District, known for its parks, cafes, galleries, and museums.

Inside, you’ll find a clubby atmosphere decorated in warm shades of chocolate and khaki.

The hotel’s rooftop is a highlight, with an open-air bar, small-plate restaurant, sundeck, swimming pool, and views of San Cristobal Hill.

This is our home away from home in Santiago. No other hotel helps us feel so welcome and cared for.

The Singular Santiago's bar is furnished with sofas, soft chairs, dimly-lit lamps and the walls are covered with large picture frames and bookshelfs.

The guest rooms are light and spacious, with marble bathrooms, high quality Egyptian cotton linens, bathrobes, and slippers.

The hotel also provides 24 hour room service, twice daily housekeeping, LCD television with digital content on demand, and Euro American universal power sockets.

The only Singular Suite has 80 square meters (861 square feet) in size and 1 King Bed.

EXPLORING SANTIAGO

The Singular Santiago is located in the historical Lastarria neighborhood, the oldest neighborhood in Santiago. Surrounding streets are home to National Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Lucia hill and the city’s Theatre.

Visitors can stroll through Parque Forestal and sample an eclectic array of restaurants and pubs, or wander down side streets and visit quaint shops and art galleries.

EOLO: Patagonia’s Spirit

EOLO PATAGONIA

EOLO Patagonia’s Spirit is a 17-room Relais & Chateaux lodge tucked into a hillside within Estancia Alice, a 4,000-hectare private ranch.

The EOLO hotel is located on a 10,000 acre estancia with vast fields, Patagonian mountains in the back round and a bright blue sky.

This location—roughly half way between the gateway city of El Calafate and Los Glaciares National Park—overlooks the rolling Patagonian Steppe and low mountains, with distant glimpses of ice-blue of Lago Argentino.

This is a place of profound peace; outside, the wind carries the sound of lowing cattle and the plaintive calls of lonely birds.

The 12 superior rooms are 400 square feet and offer views of a lake, steppe or cordillera views. Two of the rooms allow an extra bed and triple occupancy.

The 3 premium rooms are 500 square feet and all have an option for an extra bed.

They not only have a window that offers an outside view, but are fitted with an additional window that overlooks EOLO’s garden.

The 2 corner rooms are 515 square feet and offer the most stunning views.

The rooms are fitted with a double window in the corner that allows guests to breathe in the vastness of the wildnerness outside.

Restaurant

Chef Juan Pablo Bonaveri showcases the best of what EOLO has to offer, pairing regional products with his international cuisine training.

Bonaveri has been head chef of the hotel’s restaurant for the past 5 years, fusing European immigrant foods with authentic Patagonia flavors.

EXPLORING ARGENTINA’S PATAGONIA 

Because EOLO is situated at the center of a 10,000 acre estancia, the adventure opportunities are endless.

Guests can go trekking to flamingo lagoons, mountain biking, bird watching, horseback riding, zip lining, and a 4X4 tour of EOLO’s unique landscape.

Perhaps the most popular excursion, however, is exploring the nearby Los Glaciares National Park, which is the largest national park in Argentina, comprising an area of approximately 1,500,000 acres.

It is home to 25 major glaciers.

Visitors trek through a massive white glacier up to the top surface.

Visitors can hike to the Perito Moreno Glacier where they end up on the top of the glacier. 

Visitors can also do kayaking  and cruise tours that put travelers face to face with some of the largest glaciers in the world.

Nearby excursions to estancias (riding, hiking) and rivers (fishing, kayaking) are another highlight. Eolo can also the starting point for trips that extend north to El Chalten (approximately 3.5 hours) or Torres del Paine, Chile (4-4.5 hours).

Hangaroa

HANGAROA HOTEL

Hangaroa Hotel is located in a privileged spot on Easter Island — 2,300 from mainland Chile — in the village of Hanga Roa, only 5 minutes from the airport. The lodge’s striking contemporary architecture was inspired by the traditional boat houses of the Rapa Nui culture.

The 75 guest rooms face the Pacific Ocean and were constructed with cypress logs, clay, and volcanic stone.

The full board program includes:

  • 3 meals daily

HANGAROA LOCATION

Hangaroa hotel is located in the capital city of Easter Island, Hanga Roa. Easter Island is considered one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world, but it still captivates the attention of tourists thanks to its main attraction: the historic Moai statues also known as “Easter Island Heads.”

The statues are housed in the Rapa Nui National Park, a certified UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are considered monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people between the years of 1250 and 1500.

The nearly 900 Moai statues have been under restoration since 1950. Most were carved from tuff (volcanic ash) and the oversized heads, deep eyebrows, and long noses demonstrate the Polynesian belief in the sanctity of the chiefly head.

These double height rooms feature a guest bathroom, a spacious living room, sofa bed and desk, shower, a private terrace overlooking the sea. They do not have television.

Vaitea Pool

Hangaroa boasts the largest pool on Easter Island. The tropical climate and mild temperatures provide ideal conditions to enjoy swimming while overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Spa Manavai

Spa Manavai offers a menu of modern wellness treatments utilizing natural ingredients. Surrounded by white sand overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the spa helps to renew mind and body.

Restaurants

Poerva Restaurant

This is the main restaurant at the hotel with a capacity of 110 people inside and 60 people on the outdoor terrace. An a la carte menu is served for breakfast and lunch.

Kaloa Restaurant

A sophisticated lounge with large banquette seating, comfortable pillows and sunset views. The two-level restaurant and lounge is a gathering place for hotel guests and local visitors looking to indulge in the freshest local seafood caught that day and other International favorites all complimented by a creative cocktail menu sure to enhance any evening.

Bar Vaikoa

The main hotel bar located near the pool offers a selection of cold dishes and a refreshing cocktail menu.

ACTIVE ADVENTURE

Hangaroa provides a menu of adventures, from boating to biking to trekking through million-year-old volcanoes.

But perhaps their greatest excursions are found in their hiking tours featuring expert guides who are knowledgeable about the ancestral culture and local community.

Ara Moai

On this 3.5-mile hike, guests will visit Rano Raraku, where the quarries of the megalithic statues called Moai are housed. Here, guests will learn about the carving and transportation process of these ancient statues from expert guides.

Guests will visit three quarries and follow the path called Ara Moai which highlights the best statues.

Hiking Ara o Te Ao

One of the oldest paths in Rapa Nui, Ara o Te Ao or “The Path of Power” ends at a lookout point over Rano Kau, the largest crater in Rapa Nui.

The 3.2-mile hike also loops through the ceremonial village of Orongo, the main cult of the Rapa Nui until the XIX Century.

Hiking Avareipua

This three-hour hike takes guests through a foundational settlement in Rapa Nui, called Ahu te Peu.

Guests hike through a landscape of lava tubes from the youngest volcanic activity on the island.

Uman Lodge

UMAN LODGE

Set within a 1,200-acre working farm, Uman Lodge overlooks the turquoise-hued Futaleufu and Espolon rivers. This Chilean hotel’s ridgetop location is an excellent base for exploring the region’s forests, lakes, rivers, and mountains.

Carefully designed and furnished by its French owners, the lodge features warm woodwork, natural stone, original artwork, leather, and plush textiles. Panoramic windows look out on the river and the Andes.

The 15 spacious suites at Uman Lodge have private terraces, living rooms, and large windows. The master suite adds a jetted tub, second bathroom, and seating space.

The Uman Restaurant is another highlight that emphasizes local ingredients, many of which are sourced from on-property.

UMAN LODGE LOCATION

The Uman lodge is located on the 1,200-acre La Confluencia farm, which is the first farm in Patagonia with a luxury hotel on its property. The field has 5 kilometers of river and the confluence of the Futaleufu and Espolón rivers. About 200 acres are reserved for agro-tourism production and another 1,000 acres are designated to the conservation of forests. In addition to the sandy beaches on the banks of the rivers, there are also two lagoons that complete the magnificent environment.

Melimoyu Lodge

Melimoyu Lodge

Melimoyu Lodge is Chilean Patagonia’s premier fishing lodge. Inside, the lodge is warm and filled with light. The inviting central room features a high, beamed ceiling; natural wood floors and accents; and large windows.

Meals are something to look forward to at Melimoyu Lodge, with an emphasis on local organic ingredients. Dinners are multi-course and served at a communal table. A riverside quincho (barbeque pavilion) is used to prepare traditional Patagonian asados.

Service is another highlight at Melimoyu Lodge. The house staff and adventure guides are genuinely kind and attentive.

Eames lounge chairs face a wood-burning fireplace, and original artwork highlights the region’s wildlife. Chilean wines and spirits line the shelves of the game room. Under the suspended staircase, an alcove library serves as the planning station for each day’s excursions.

Melimoyu Lodge Location

Located 22 miles (45 minutes) from the Route 7 village of La Junta, the lodge is surrounded by Patagonian forest and just steps from the Melimoyu River. Guests arrive by road, or land at the lodge’s helipad.

Melimoyu Lodge Accommodations

The four comfortable guestrooms have an understated elegance, featuring natural wood, wicker, and artisanal textiles handmade in the lakeside village of Puyuhuapi.

Each guestroom is furnished with king bed, private balcony, radiant heat, satellite television, bathrobes, slippers, jetted bathtub, and hairdryer. Due to terrain conditions, Wi-Fi and mobile phone service are not available at the lodge; however, a satellite phone can be accessed.

Melimoyu Lodge Amenities

The chefs at Melimoyu Lodge emphasize local ingredients and flavors. They produce a menu that includes roasted lamb, fresh salads, and a variety of homemade desserts, cakes, kuchens, and pies.

All meals are paired with drinks and juices, locally crafted beers a range of high quality Chilean wines.

Melimoyu Lodge Activities

Guests at Melimoyu Lodge usually stay three or four nights, fly fishing, kayaking or rafting, mountain bike and horseback riding, hiking the forest and glacier-view trails, and relaxing in the nearby hot springs. Four-wheel-drive buggies are also available.

The lodge’s on-staff fishing guides are true experts, passionate about their craft. They lead guests to pristine rivers and streams by 4WD, or to secluded lakes and lagoons by helicopter. Fly fishing instruction and equipment are available at Melimoyu Lodge. At the end of the day, the riverside hot-tub is an ideal location for cocktails.
