Jardin Escondido

Jardin Escondido is Francis Ford Coppola’s family retreat in the trendy Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo. Guests enjoy proximity to Palermo’s boutiques, cafes, galleries, and nightspots.

Mr. Coppola lived at Jardin Escondido for two years while filming Tetro, which was released in 2009. The filmmaker was so enchanted by the house, the neighborhood, and Buenos Aires that he decided to open the home to travelers from around the world.

Jardín Escondido feels like a home away from home. The large house (two floors, with walled garden area) is available by the room, or on exclusive basis.

Jardin Escondido is filled with Mr. and Mrs. Coppola’s favorite Argentine sculpture, textiles, and handcrafts. A collection of Mr. Coppola’s films is also on hand.

The property features seven guest rooms, many of which are named after family members. The rooms are furnished with a security box, mini-bar, air-conditioner, writing table, hair dryer, bathrobes, yoga mats, and organic toiletries.

Buenos Aires

It’s trend-setting and alluring, but Buenos Aires is not Paris.  Though deeply influenced by European tastes and immigration, Buenos Aires has evolved beyond imitation. This is one of the world’s great cultural capitals, exporting cinema, fashion, music, and cuisine. The city’s museums—housing works by Diego Rivera, Wifredo Lam, Frida Kahlo, Jorge de la Vega—are among the hemisphere’s best.

Other attractions in Buenos Aires include:

  • Polo
  • Futbol
  • Performing Arts
  • Botanical Gardens
  • Architecture
  • Street Art

Buenos Aires is a complex city of distinct neighborhoods, each with its own texture and personality. Pedestrian zones crisscross the capital, filled with smartly-dressed couples, and street performers. Parks and plazas serve as community gathering places—venues for picnickers, political activists, and amateur futbolistas.
