Hidden behind a simple façade, the 17,222-square foot Casa Higueras boutique hotel overlooks the colorful hillsides of Valparaiso and the Pacific Ocean.
Situated in the historic neighborhood of Cerro Alegre in Valparaiso, the hotel is a reconstructed aristocrat mansion that was built by English and German immigrants in the 1920s. The neighborhood was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its spread of historic mansions and impressive gardens.
The 20 guest rooms (5 Traditional, 4 Premium, 6 Premium Superior, 2 Superior, and 3 Deluxe) are tucked away on five floors and range from 236 to 602 square feet.
The comfortable interiors feature soft textiles, coved ceilings, and polished wood.
In-room amenities: bathrobes, slippers, security boxes, hair dryers, and Wi-Fi. Casa Higueras welcomes guests age twelve and older.
An outdoor swimming pool, a spa tub, and a line of sun chairs are located in the terraced garden.
The hotel’s restaurant, Maralegre, is arguably the best in town.
The hotel offers a menu of experiences that include walks, guided tours through the neighborhood, and cultural programs including artist workshops, and art gallery tours.
They also offer visits to architectural interest sites, wine tours and special tours for Christmas, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day dates.
