La Selva Lodge rests within the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve, on the southern bank of the Napo River. In the heart of Ecuador’s Amazon Basin jungle, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, this area is home to millions of species of plants, animals, birds, and insects. Guests usually stay three or four nights to explore the area’s wildlife, flora, and cultural traditions.

Notes:

La Selva does not feature a spa; however, wellness & spa services are available, including massages and holistic treatments, often set in nature or overlooking water. Although each room is equipped with excellent cross-ventilation (rooms feature screened walls and large openings instead of traditional glass windows) and ceiling fans, La Selva does not have air conditioning. The rooms do not have televisions. Even though WiFi is available at La Selva, the internet connection is unstable and might vary depending on weather conditions and the number of guests.

To reach La Selva, guests take a short land transfer to a private dock on the Napo River, a three-hour motorized canoe ride downstream, and a short shared paddle coanoe rode to the lodge.

All meals & snacks, water, coffee, and herbal tea; guided group-based excursions with a bilingual guide & native guide; transfers in and out from Coca airport; use of kayaks; and yoga sessions are included in La Selva’s rates.
