Mirante do Gaviao Lodge

Design-driven
Mirante do Gaviao rests on the banks of the Rio Negro—a mirror-like Amazon tributary that flows through the rainforest of western Brazil. The lodge offers access to Anavilhanas National Park, the greatest river archipelago on the planet, with more than 400 unexplored islands. Originally designed to accommodate the embarkation and disembarkation of boats, its architecture is based on Amazonian shipbuilding techniques. The name, Mirante do Gaviao, meaning hawk viewpoint, makes reference to the privilege of the bird’s vantage point from which to view the forest and rivers.
