Rio Sagrado, a Belmond Hotel, lies along the Urubamba River toward the northern edge of Peru’s Sacred Valley. Its design evokes a rural Andean village: low-rise structures built of stone and wood, gardens with small water channels, and guest rooms—plainly elegant—with floor-to-ceiling windows and terraces opening onto the valley. The hotel provides an excellent environment for acclimatizing, and can serve as a comfortable base for explorations of the Sacred Valley and day trips to Machu Picchu.
