Coral Caye is a private retreat of the Francis Ford Coppola family. Located on an exclusive two-acre island, this low-lying coral islet is eight miles (approximately 25 minutes) east of the Belizean beach town of Placencia, and of the main Turtle Inn property.
Sheltered by the Belize Barrier Reef, Coral Caye is a rustic sanctuary of palms, clear water, powdery sand, and starry nights. The island features a small coral sand beach and mangrove ecology.
With two cottages and a ‘great house’, Coral Caye can accommodate from two to ten guests.
In-room amenities include electrical sockets, bathrobes, ceiling fans, coffee, and cookie jar.
Rooms do not offer air-conditioning, TV, or bathtub.
Coral Cottage
The Coral Cottage is furnished with a king-size bed. The cottage also features a living area with a sofa bed, a front porch, hammocks, and a full bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower.
The Coral Cottage can accommodate either three adults or two adults and two young children.
Seahorse Cottage
Situated near Mangrove Cove, the seahorse cottage is named after the seahorses you can find in this spot. The cottage is furnished with two queen-size beds and two twin-size beds. It features an in-cottage bathroom and an outdoor shower.
The Seahorse Cottage can accommodate up to six people.
Great House
The “great house”, or gathering space, features a sand-floored living room, half bathroom, bar, music system, kitchen, dining table, board games, and a dart board.
The house offers a daybed for napping or to be used as an additional overnight accommodation.
Amenities
Among the island’s uncomplicated amenities are a dock, fire pit, lobster pen, hammocks, kayaks, musical instruments, fishing rods, a game collection, and Wi-Fi
During your stay you will be cared for by a staff of six guides, caretakers, housekeepers, and cooks. The resident retriever, Goldie, is also an excellent host.
All meals are included during your stay at Coral Caye. Meal style is casual and locally inspired.
