“Juanma” Barrientos Valencia became the first chef to lead a Colombian cuisine restaurant to a Michelin Star. He was the youngest chef named to San Pellegrino’s list of Latin America’s 50 Best restaurants and is now the founder of more than a dozen restaurants and bars. Leveraging his creativity, eye for design, and guest service experience, Juanma opened elcielo Hotel Medellín in the city’s trendy El Poblado neighborhood in March 2021.
