Commissioned in 1922 to celebrate a century of Brazilian independence, Belmond Copacabana Palace is an art-deco showpiece. It is the grande dame of Rio‘s famed Copacabana Beach–a prime location for the city’s spirited Carnival and firework-flecked New Year’s Eve celebrations.
