Chan Chich Lodge sits within the 30,000-acre Gallon Jug private reserve, surrounded by jungle-covered hills that were once home to a Maya settlement more than 3,000 years old. The reserve connects to additional protected lands, forming nearly half a million acres of continuous habitat that shelters over 500 bird species. The surrounding rainforest also supports howler monkeys, colorful frogs, deer, pumas, and jaguars. More than nine miles of trails encircle the lodge, offering immersive access to this ecosystem.
