Clos Apalta Residence is a four-villa boutique hotel located on a hillside in the Colchagua Valley, not far from the town of Santa Cruz. Each of the villas overlooks the Clos Apalta wine estate.
Clos Apalta was established by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet. Alexandra is the great-granddaughter of the creator of Grand Marnier. Her family has been dedicated to the creation of fine wines and spirits since 1827.
Under the direction of their son, Charles de Bournet, Clos Apalta produces some of the best wines in South America. To wit, wine critic and journalist James Suckling awarded the 2014 vintage a perfect 100 points. In 2008, Clos Apalta’s 2005 vintage was chosen as the top Wine of the World by Wine Spectator.
The four one-bedroom villas of Clos Apalta Residence are surrounded by native trees and hiking trails. Each villa overlooks the 900-acre organic wine estate.
The main lodge building features a lounge, restaurant, sun deck, and swimming pool.
Next door, guests can tour the cutting-edge Clos Apalta Winery, and enjoy a private tasting.
